Having a “baby face” can be an asset for African American males. Baby faces are “less threatening” than adult male faces (a fear of Black Men exists in White Americans) and convey the myth that “big foreheads indicate intelligence”. Is the current fashion of head shaving practical, myth boosting or are males running low on testosterone?
(I’m using neoteny in the general sense of “domestication” and “juvenalization”)
